Ambuja Cement, part of the Swiss cement company LafargeHolcim, has planned to infuse Rs 1,391 crore to set up a greenfield clinkerisation plant in Rajasthan.
The proposal to set up 3.1 million tonne plant has been approved by the board of directors. The plant will be located at Marwar Mundawa in Rajasthan.
An initial investment of Rs 1,391 crore will be made towards the Phase-I with a capacity of 1.7 million tonne expected to be commissioned in the second half of 2020.
Currently, the firm has a cement capacity of 29.65 million tonne, with five integrated cement manufacturing plants and eight cement grinding units across the country.
