Ambuja Cements, part of the Adani Group, is set to establish a modern cement grinding unit within the industrial estate of Adani Gangavaram Port in Visakhapatnam.
The facility will occupy eight hectares of pre-designated industrial land, eliminating the need for fresh land acquisition. This initiative aligns with Adani Group’s vision of sustainable, port-based industrial development aimed at minimising environmental impact. The plant will utilise industrial byproducts like slag and fly ash from nearby steel and power plants, ensuring eco-friendly operations. Raw materials such as clinker and gypsum will be transported through low-emission rail and sea routes to reduce carbon footprint.
Classified under the low-impact Orange Category, the unit will not involve fuel combustion or chemical processing. It will also implement advanced dust control and water conservation measures, operating with zero liquid discharge. This project supports local development, enhances Gangavaram Port’s logistics role, and complements Ambuja’s national growth and net-zero commitments, validated by the Science Based Targets initiative.
