The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has approved a series of major infrastructure projects, including a Rs 7,387.70 crore loan from NABARD for the development of capital Amaravati.
Key decisions include awarding contracts for the construction of a flood pumping station and the Amaravati Quantum Computing Centre, alongside various projects in Zone-8. A significant Rs 1,673 crore project for underground drainage and sewage treatment in the Mangalagiri-Tadepalli municipal area was also approved. Additionally, the Cabinet introduced a 10 percent road safety cess on motor vehicle life tax and approved exemptions for land pooling beneficiaries in Tirupati. Land allocations in the CRDA area are also set to be reviewed.
The Cabinet approved leases for the Indian Institute of Plantation Management and Vedanta’s drilling activities, while a sports city in Tirupati received land for development. Plans for a greenfield port, shipbuilding cluster, and a new airport in Duggarajupatnam were also cleared. “These projects focus on enhancing urban infrastructure and boosting economic growth,” the CM said.
