The Andhra Pradesh government has completed the tendering process for sports infrastructure projects worth Rs 54 crore, aimed at boosting the state's sports facilities and athlete welfare.
The projects are part of the state's broader initiative to develop world-class sports infrastructure. These include the development of the Kodiramamurthy Stadium in Srikakulam, a Rs 25-crore stadium at Kommadi in Visakhapatnam, a new sports school in Vizianagaram, and a residential sports school for tribal children in the Araku-Paderu region.
Additionally, the Khelo India scheme has helped complete a synthetic track in Kakinada, while the renovation of the Eluru stadium and the upgrading of major stadia in Vijayawada and Guntur are underway. A large land parcel of 28.30 acres in Tirupati has been allotted for advanced sports facilities.
