Websol Energy System has received approval from the Government of Andhra Pradesh for its four GW solar cell and module expansion project at MPSEZ, Naidupeta, in Tirupati district.
This approval comes after the company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) in November 2025. The government has granted Websol a comprehensive incentive package, including land allotment, fixed capital investment subsidies, power tariff reimbursements, electricity duty exemptions, and reductions in industrial water charges and stamp duties.
As part of the project, Websol also plans to develop a 100 MW captive solar power plant to provide renewable energy, ensuring reliable power access for the manufacturing facility and improving cost efficiencies. The new facility will significantly boost Websol's production capacity and contribute to India’s renewable energy goals.
