The government of Andhra Pradesh has extended the mining lease of India Cements up to 2037.
Lands in Pondugula village of Dachepalli mandal and Pulipadu village of Gurajala mandal of Guntur districts were given to India Cements in 2000 for limestone mining. According to the new order, the lease will expire on 3 April 2037.
India Cements, which has a cement plant at Vishnupuram village of Dameracherla mandal of Nalgonda district, with a production capacity of 11,00,000 tpa of clinker, made a formal request to the state government to extend the lease of these lands for captive mining.
