Asian Energy Services has made a significant oil discovery at its onshore Mevad Field in Gujarat, following the drilling of well NM-01 to a depth of 1,650 mtrs.
The well has shown potential for peak production of 125–130 barrels of oil per day (bopd), with current output at around 100 bopd from the Sobhasan sand interval. The well encountered three hydrocarbon-bearing sand layers: Mandhali, Sobhasan, and Kalol, which are being evaluated sequentially. Kapil Garg, Managing Director of Asian Energy Services, commented, “Oil produced from the Mevad well will be supplied to domestic refineries under offtake arrangements, with crude pricing linked to the Brent benchmark.”
The discovery is expected to enhance the company's domestic oil production, contributing to incremental cash flows and supporting its strategy of disciplined resource development. Further drilling is planned to evaluate the reservoir's full potential.
