Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated a Rs 83 crore, 951-mtrs.-long railway overbridge at Jamunamukh in Hojai district on 01 December, 2025.
The ROB, which includes a 7.5-mtrs.-wide motorable carriageway, aims to enhance connectivity between Dabaka, Kampur, and Jamunamukh railway stations. In addition to the overbridge, the CM virtually launched several educational and community initiatives, including the Model High School at Balijuri Tea Estate and community halls at various tea estates. He also laid foundation stones for new school buildings and flood protection projects, notably at Barhampur and Jamunamukh.
CM Sarma highlighted the ongoing flood mitigation efforts to address the annual floods caused by the Kopili River. The government has allocated around Rs 80 crore for flood protection works in these areas.
