1. Boolean Searches :

i. AND - Shows results where both terms on either side of the 'AND' operator are present. 'AND' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi AND metro result - It will return records in which 'delhi' as well as 'metro' both are present.

ii. OR - Shows results where either term (or both terms) is present. 'OR' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi OR metro result - It will return records in which either 'delhi' or 'metro' or both are present

2. Proximity Searches

A proximity search looks for terms that are within a specific distance from one another. For example, search term - 'delhi metro'~10 result - It will search for records where 'delhi' and 'metro' are found within 10 words of each other

3. Phrase searches

You can search phrases using double quotes. for e.g. 'delhi metro' result - It will return records where 'delhi metro' phrase is found.

AstraZeneca India to invest Rs 250-cr for expansion of technology centre

AstraZeneca India (AZIPL), the global capability centre (GCC) of the pharma major AstraZeneca will invest Rs 250 crore towards expanding its Global Innovation and Technology Centre (GITC) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This includes close to 1,300 roles focused on driving innovation, enhancing efficiency, and streamlining operations across the company globally.

With the highly skilled roles to be brought in by 2025, the expanded GITC will propel company’s vision to leverage technologies such as enterprise platforms, AI, machine learning, and supply chain analytics for improved outcomes.

The facility currently occupies 3,34,000 sq.ft. office space at Ramanujan IT City, with plans to add approximately 1,80,000 sq.ft. over the next six months to accommodate this expansion, creating AstraZeneca’s biggest GCC. This is a significant addition by the company, joining other global giants which are setting up GCCs in the city.

AstraZeneca is evolving its technologiess to better serve patients in countries where it operates. Tamil Nadu’s Industries Minister TRB Rajaa said that this investment will not only enhance the state’s capabilities in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors but also spur technological advancements and economic development.
