Ather Energy, India’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has announced plans to expand its retail footprint to 700 experience centres (ECs) across India by the end of FY26. This nearly doubles its current presence and is aimed at enhancing accessibility for customers to explore, test ride, and purchase Ather scooters.
The expansion is being propelled by the impressive success of Ather’s first family-oriented electric scooter, the Rizta, which recently surpassed one lakh units in retail sales within a year of its launch. Rizta has helped Ather break into the family segment, significantly increasing sales in key states such as Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh. It now contributes nearly 60 percent of Ather’s total sales, boosting market share in previously underpenetrated regions and attracting a broader customer base.
As of March 31, 2025, Ather operated 351 Experience Centres in India and 24 more in Nepal and Sri Lanka, with 46 percent located in South India. Moving forward, the company plans to triple its store count in northern India while also expanding in the east and west to support rising demand sparked by Rizta’s popularity.
