VinFast, Vietnam's leading automaker, is set to launch electric two-wheelers in India by 2026.
The company, which introduced its electric cars earlier this year, is currently conducting feasibility studies for the two-wheelers, planning to launch at least six models with varying battery capacities and ranges. VinFast also plans to expand into India's ride-hailing market by the first quarter of 2026, leveraging its success in Vietnam. Additionally, the company is in talks with state governments such as Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh to introduce electric buses.
As part of its growth strategy, VinFast aims to bring its entire ecosystem, including mobility, education, healthcare, and hospitality, to India. The company’s US two billion assembly plant in Tamil Nadu marks the beginning of a phased investment worth up to Rs 16,000 crore.
