Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking, Bharat Electronics (BEL), has signed a contract worth Rs 1,640 crore with the Ministry of Defence for the supply of advanced Air Defence Fire Control Radars (Atulya) to the Indian Army.
These cutting-edge, indigenously developed radars are designed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and manufactured by BEL under the “Make in India” initiative. The Atulya radars are engineered to offer robust defence against aerial threats in both day and night operations, across all weather conditions. Equipped with inbuilt electronic counter measure (ECM) capabilities, these systems support a range of tactical operations including air surveillance, target acquisition, and tracking of aerial threats.
This significant order reinforces BEL’s role as a strategic partner in India’s defence modernisation and technological self-reliance.
