Bharat Earth Movers (BEML) has entered into three memorandums of understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 350 crore with Dredging Corporation of India (DCIL) to enhance India's dredging capabilities.

The agreements focus on the supply of indigenous spare parts for DCIL’s dredger fleet, the design and construction of five inland cutter suction dredgers, and the provision of dredging equipment for reservoir de-siltation and inland waterway projects. BEML will oversee the supply, maintenance, and lifecycle support of dredgers, while DCIL will manage their deployment in maritime and inland waterway projects.

BEML’s Chairman, Shantanu Roy, highlighted the partnership’s role in supporting India’s maritime infrastructure by reducing reliance on imported dredging equipment and fostering domestic manufacturing in specialized maritime equipment. This collaboration marks a significant step toward strengthening India’s dredging sector and its long-term sustainability.
