Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has secured an order for Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project in Tamil Nadu.
The company has bagged the order for erection work of the upcoming 2x1000 MWe turbine generator (TG) island Units-3 and -4 at Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project being set up with cooperation of Russia.
The value of the contract is worth Rs 440 crore. The order has been placed by the Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL).
The company has also emerged as the lowest bidder for erection of the reactor side equipment.
The company is currently executing turbine generator packages for four units of 700 MWe, two units each at Kakrapar and Rawatbhata.
The company has executed the erection work of TG island for Units-1 and -2 at Kudankulam.
