The Government of India owned Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has commissioned Bhavnagar Energy Company’s (BECL) 2x250 MW thermal power project at Padva village in Bhavnagar, Gujarat.
The thermal power project is based on eco-friendly Circulating Fluidized Bed Combustion (CFBC) technology which utilises low quality coal (lignite) as its primary fuel.
The second unit of the thermal power project is also at an advanced stage of completion. Based on CFBC technology, BHEL, had earlier commissioned two 250 MW power projects in Tamil Nadu.
