BHEL has begun supplying semi-high-speed underslung traction converters for the Vande Bharat sleeper trains.
The converters are being sent to Kolkata for the final assembly of the trains. A flag-off ceremony was held at BHEL’s Bengaluru plant, where Bani Varma, Director (IS&P) at BHEL, along with senior officials, marked the delivery of the first set of converters. These converters are a part of BHEL’s commitment to providing indigenous solutions in power and transmission for the country's growing railway infrastructure.
The Vande Bharat sleeper trains are part of India's efforts to enhance its semi-high-speed rail services.
