Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) has signed an agreement with GMR Hyderabad International Airport (GHIAL) to construct a dedicated aviation turbine fuel (ATF) pipeline from its Malkapur installation to the fuel farm at GMR Hyderabad Airport.
The agreement aims to ensure a reliable, efficient, and environmentally sustainable fuel supply to one of India’s fastest-growing airports. The proposed 56-km ATF pipeline will include about one km within the airport premises. Once operational, the pipeline will work on a common carrier basis, enabling efficient fuel transportation and reducing reliance on road logistics, BPCL stated, “This dedicated ATF pipeline reinforces our continued commitment to building robust, future-ready energy infrastructure while actively reducing carbon emissions by minimising road transportation of fuel,” said Sanjeev Kumar, BPCL’s business head for Aviation.
Pradeep Panicker, CEO of GHIAL, highlighted that this partnership aligns with the company’s goal of delivering cost-efficient and sustainable solutions. The agreement was signed by Sujit Kumar from BPCL and Ashish Kumar from GHIAL.
