Bharat Petroleum Corporation has reiterated its
plans of going ahead with the 6 million tpa Bina refinery project in Madhya
Pradesh. The company is currently negotiating with the state government
concerned for sales tax concessions for the project.
Meanwhile, BPCL is executing capacity expansion
of its existing (and only) Mumbai refinery from 8.7 million tpa to 12 million
tpa. The Rs.1,831 crore is likely to be completed by March 2005.
In another development, the company has floated
plans of merging Kochi Refineries, its subsidiary, with itself. There are no

the proposed merger are awaited.
