Bellasis Road in Mumbai Central, Maharashtra, will undergo revamp by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
BMC will begin beautification work and add facilities like a play area outside the local mall, parking zone and swanky benches.
The initiative, supported by Bloomberg, aims to modernise Bellasis Road and 13 other important junctions and roads in the city. Work on the road is expected to be completed by February 2019.
The makeover involves demarcating carriageways for motorists, including a new one, which will be a free left turn at Nagpada junction. The road will also have bulb-out-- a protruding bit of footpath-- to ensure pedestrians can cross safely in less time.
The cost of the project is Rs 22 crore and work has started on the beautification of Nagpada junction at a cost of Rs five crore.
