After months of stagnation, the Ejipura flyover project in Bengaluru is accelerating, with 63.5 percent of the work completed.
The 2.5-km flyover, which includes ramps at both ends, is now nearing two-thirds completion. Segment casting is almost finished, with 584 out of 764 segments prepared. Ramps are being installed, and 90 percent of the footpath work is complete, with expectations for completion in two months. "All segments are ready and just need to be placed. Preparations are under way at Sakalavara Bannerghatta Road casting yard to expedite installation," said officials.
The project, initially stalled after Simplex Infrastructure’s contract was terminated in 2022, was handed over to BSCPCL in November 2023. With a revised budget of Rs 176 crore, the flyover is slated to be finished by June 2026, easing traffic congestion between Koramangala and the Inner Ring Road. Ministers now review progress bi-weekly.
