Mangalore Electricity Supply has invited bids for the conversion of the existing overhead electrical distribution system to an underground cable system in Ullala, part of the Mangaluru division.
The contract, valued at Rs 100.43 crore, will be carried out on a total turnkey basis. The work involves laying underground cables using trenchless technology, specifically horizontal directional drilling (HDD). This method will include excavation for cable trenches, along with site preparation and other related works. The upgrade aims to improve the city's electrical infrastructure and reduce the risks associated with overhead lines, especially in urban areas, while this conversion is crucial for modernising the power supply in Ullala.
The tender closes on 02 January, 2026.
