Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on 07 September, 2025 laid the foundation stones for nine development projects worth Rs 558 crore in Siwan district, aimed at enhancing road and power infrastructure.
Four projects focus on road improvements, including the Rs 120-crore widening of the Pachrukkhi bypass from Mohammadpur Mod on NH-531 to Chhapia Tedhi Ghat Gopallpur on NH-227, the Siwan-Andar road at Rs 67 crore outlay, Bhanta PokharJiradei road for Rs 18 crore, and a rail overbridge at level crossing 91 on SH-29.
Five power sector projects include the construction of a grid sub-station at Mairwa involving a cost of Rs 222 crore, SonkaraAndar power sub-centre for Rs 10 crore, Madhopur-Maharajganj sub-centre for Rs nine crore, the second circuit of Mashrakh-Maharajganj transmission line with Rs nine crore outlay, and the Siswan grid sub-centre (Rs eight crore).
The projects are expected to improve connectivity, power distribution, local development, and empower communities in Siwan.
