Birla Carbon has announced the setting up of two new carbon black manufacturing sites in Naidupet, Andhra Pradesh, and Rayong, Thailand. The company is augmenting its expansion plans in line with market dynamics and customer growth in the fast-growing markets of India and Southeast Asia.

Each of the new facilities will have an initial capacity of 120 kMT, and is expected to be operational in 2025, with plans to exapnd carbon black capacity by more than 240 kMT. These will ensure a secure supply of the company's industry-leading products, quality, and service, allowing its customers on their growth path. These two new greenfield sites will be prioritised based on their locations, demand in the region, and specific customer needs.

Birla Carbon will focus on the completion of its expansion initiatives even as it evaluates additional capacity requirements in various geographies. The post treatment facility for expanding specialty capacity at Patalganga and the previously announced brownfield expansion plans in Hungary, are progressing as per plan.
