Air conditioning solutions company Blue Star will invest Rs 400 crore in FY26 to enhance its manufacturing capacity across room air conditioners, commercial refrigeration, and commercial air conditioning. Also, Rs 200 crore will go towards expanding its Sri City plant, increasing room AC production by 12 lakh units from 8.5 lakh.
Additional investments include Rs 53 crore for commercial freezers near Mumbai and Rs 150 crore for commercial air conditioners in Himachal Pradesh. It will also introduce a wide range of commercial refrigeration products in Kolkata, targeting industries such as horticulture, dairy, ice cream, poultry, processed foods, quick service restaurants, HoReCa, marine, pharmaceutical, and healthcare.
Additionally, Blue Star is evaluating capital expenditure for manufacturing in the Eastern region, where its room AC market share has grown from 10 percent to 13 per cent, and commercial refrigeration share has increased to 8-10 percent from seven to eight percent. Blue Star plans to expand its market share through innovation, quick delivery, and growth in quick commerce and QSR.
