The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has accelerated the implementation of the Navi Mumbai Airport-Influenced Notified Area (NAINA) project in Maharashtra.
In a move to prevent the haphazard development in the surrounding areas of Navi Mumbai International Airport, CIDCO has proposed the NAINA project that will be developed over 371 sq km of land surrounding the Navi Mumbai International Airport and cover 175 villages of Raigad.
Of the 11 town-planning schemes proposed under the project, plans 1-3 are being implemented at various levels. CIDCO has appealed to the land owners under plans 4-11 to submit their consent letters at the earliest for prioritising the development.
The main feature of the town development plan under project is that it will be developed through participatory basis instead of land acquisition.
The land owners under this Scheme will contribute equal land. They will get 40 percent developed plot from their original land even if it is affected by any reservation, and the carpet area will also be the same as the original land.
CIDCO will develop roads, playground, schools, gardens and other facilities over the remaining 60 percent land.
