On 29 October, 2025, Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) and Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop and manage common rail handling operations at the upcoming Vadhvan Port.
The agreement, signed during India Maritime Week 2025 in Mumbai, outlines CONCOR’s role as the Common Rail Handling Operator, responsible for consultancy and operational support in rail coordination, infrastructure planning, and container handling.
The project, estimated at Rs 500 crore, will be executed in phases, with a target commencement in 2030. This collaboration aims to improve multimodal connectivity, streamline logistics, and strengthen India’s port-led growth, marking a significant step in infrastructure development at Vadhvan Port.
