Cauvery Neeravari Nigam has invited bids for the remodelling of Nagamangala branch canal from ch 0.00 km to 78.46 km under Hemavathy Reservoir Project in Tumkur district, Karnataka.
The contract, valued at Rs 451.97 crore, aims to modernize and strengthen irrigation infrastructure to enhance water flow efficiency and ensure equitable distribution to agricultural command areas.
This initiative forms a critical part of Karnataka’s irrigation development strategy, with emphasis on improving canal hydraulics, preventing seepage, and boosting water management for sustainable farming. With growing demand for irrigation reliability in Tumkur, the proposed canal remodelling will significantly benefit local farmers and align with the state’s larger water resource optimization efforts.
