The Ahmedabad-based Chiripal group has planned to set up a textile park in Gujarat. The proposal is awaiting clearance from the project approval committee of the Union textile ministry.

The park, coming up on a 100 acre expanse at Bareja in Gujarat's Ahmedabad district, is expected to attract investments of around Rs.800 crore. The park would cater to weaving, spinning and texturising units.

The group has also planned to set up an apparel park on 70 acres of land in Ahmedabad. Details are being firmed up. The group intends to occupy 20 per cent space in the proposed apparel park.

Chiripal Group: Founded in 1975, Ahmedabad-based Chiripal group is an integrated textile player and also has interests in petrochemicals. The group's flagship is Nandan Exim Ltd, a listed company.
