The long-awaited development of Industrial Area Phase 3 in Chandigarh is set to give a significant economic boost to the city.
The UT administration plans to auction 140 industrial plots starting in April next year, with plot sizes ranging from one to four kanals. Initially envisioned over two decades ago, the area is designed as a hub for non-polluting, high-value industries such as Information Technology (IT), biotechnology, electronics, nanotechnology, and automotive components. It will also house industries related to hospitality, finance, banking, and handicrafts.
The development of this phase aims to drive industrial growth and create jobs in the city. Deputy Commissioner and UT Estate Officer Nishant Yadav stated, “There are 140 plots up for grabs in Phase 3 and seven in Phase 2. In Phase 3, only non-polluting industries will be allowed. Layout zoning will be completed soon, and we will start auctions in the first week of Apri."
