Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje will lay the foundation stone for the Parwan gravity dam project on 15 December 2017.
Hindustan Construction Company (HCC), in a joint venture with Hoisto Structures and Equipment (HSEPL), has been awarded the contract on engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis for construction of the concrete gravity dam and 8.475 km long tunnel for irrigation and water supply.
The company will also construct a 21 km long access road to the project site. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 672.99 crore.
The project is proposed to provide irrigation benefits to an area of 1,31,400 ha covering 313 villages, and will cater to drinking water requirements of 820 villages of Jhalawar, Baran and Kota districts.
The project is expected to be completed in 48 months.
Apart from this, foundation stones will be laid for the Dholpur lift irrigation project and Isarda dam in December 2017.
