The long-awaited International Film City project in Uttar Pradesh is set to begin construction by late May or June, 2025, according to officials.
Located in Sector-21 along the Yamuna Expressway under the YEIDA region, the Rs 1,510 crore project’s first phase spans 230 acres and will include 13 to 14 modern sound studios and a film institute across three lakh sq. mtrs. The project will be developed in three phases over eight years, covering a total of 1,000 acres. A concession agreement was signed in June 2024, and the right of way was granted in February 2025. The building plan is expected to be submitted shortly, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath set to lay the foundation stone once approvals are in place.
Bayview Projects, led by renowned filmmaker Boney Kapoor, is the selected developer. The company has completed essential preparatory work including land leveling, geo-technical surveys, road development, and cleanup. The film city aims to position Uttar Pradesh as a national and international hub for film, media, and tourism, while also creating jobs, attracting investment, and showcasing the state’s cultural richness.
