Coromandel Getax Phosphates is shortlisted by the Togolese Republic (or Togo) to develop the carbonated phosphates in the West African country.
Coromandel Getax is a Singapore-based 50:50 JV between Coromandel International, a Murugappa Group company and Getax. It is among the three international firms shortlisted to mine rock phosphate and produce phosphoric acid. The other companies selected to develop the project are Elenilto Mining Minerals of Israel and Balmara Resources of Australia.
The company is planning to set up a phosphoric acid plant with a capacity of 4 lakh tonne entailing an investment of about $500 million (approx Rs 2, 700 crore).
