Coromandel International has doubled its sulphur fertilizer capacity at its Visakhapatnam facility by inaugurating a second manufacturing plant.
The facility, a fully backward-integrated unit, produces 12 lakh tonne of complex fertilizers alongside phosphoric and sulphuric acid. With this expansion, its sulphur fertilizer capacity has increased from 25,000 to 50,000 tonne, ensuring a steady supply of high-quality bentonite sulphur fertilizers for farmers.
This expansion strengthens the company's presence in the specialty nutrients market and facilitates research and development for new sulphur variants tailored to India's diverse agricultural needs. “Over next 4-5 years, this plant will play a crucial role in effectively meeting the growing demand for bentonite sulphur fertilisers across India,” MD and CEO S Sankarasubramanian said.
