Coromandel International has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with IIT Madras Research Park to establish a Corporate Research Centre.
This collaboration aims to strengthen industry-academia ties and foster advanced research in areas such as agriculture, sustainability, and emerging technologies. The MoU was signed during the inauguration of the IIT Madras Global Research Foundation on January 9, with Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar present. The Centre will focus on joint research programs, technology incubation, talent development, and international collaborations, in line with Coromandel’s vision of science-led growth and sustainable agricultural solutions.
Narayanan Vellayan, Whole-time Director at Coromandel, emphasised that the collaboration would allow the company to work with leading researchers and global partners to develop innovative solutions in crop nutrition and agri-inputs. The Corporate Research Centre is set to drive scalable technologies that will benefit farmers and contribute to India’s agricultural ecosystem.
