DSK Motowheels is coming up with a new manufacturing facility at Talegaon (near Pune), at an investment of Rs 350 crore.
The new plant will have an installed capacity to manufacture 50,000 units per annum. The company also has a collaboration with Italy’s Benelli and is keen to do local manufacturing with Benelli. Earlier this year, DSK Motowheels started selling Benelli bikes, and targets a sale of around 3,000 bikes during the current year.
In addition, the company is in talks with its South Korean partner, Hyosung, to locally manufacture superbikes in India. The company presently gets bikes from Hyosung in a completely knocked-down (CKD) state. It assembles the bikes at its Pune plant before dispatching them to dealers. This year, it aims to sell about 2,500 Hyosung bikes.
DSK Motowheels, on 3 June, opened its first Benelli dealership in New Delhi.
