The Union power ministry has advanced
the date of re-commissioning of Phase I of the Dabhol power project to 15 May
2006. The plant will be operation for 2-3 hours per day using naphtha lying
stored in the project premises.
Here is the plan of action:
- Phase I (740 MW) will run for 2-3
hours per day with effect from 15 May 2006 using the 34,000 tonnes of naphtha
lying stored in the project premises
- The plant will operate thus for
around three months till gas supplies are tied up
- Phase II (1444 MW) will be
operational from November 2006 onwards
- The LNG terminal, now 80 per cent
complete, will be fully constructed by August 2006
