Japanese air conditioner manufacturing company, Daikin, plans to set up its third manufacturing plant in India.
The AC company is in talks with Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Telangana governments for the proposed project. But the decision is likely to be taken only after March 2018.
The company already has one manufacturing facility at Neemrana in Rajasthan, and is building a second factory in the same location. The project will entail an investment of Rs 600 crore plus, and will spread on around 40 acre of land.
The plant will be operational from September 2017. The production capacity of the company will increase to 12 lakh room air-conditioners per year from the present five lakh units, after the establishment of the second plant.
