On Republic Day, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated Rs 327 crore worth of infrastructure projects aimed at improving living conditions for residents of jhuggi-jhopri (JJ) clusters.
The projects focus on enhancing sanitation and overall infrastructure in these underserved areas. Rekha Gupta highlighted the government’s commitment to improving the quality of life for people in JJ clusters, noting that previous administrations had neglected these communities.
Out of the total Rs 327 crore approved, Rs 144 crore worth of work has already been awarded. These projects include the construction of public convenience complexes and cement-concrete works across 476 sites. The inauguration ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva and senior government officials.
