The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) has approved BSES Rajdhani Power (BRPL) to install four large-scale battery energy storage systems across South and Southwest Delhi.
These systems, set to provide 55.5 MW of storage capacity, will help stabilise power supply during peak demand and integrate renewable energy sources like solar and wind. The project will use lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries for their safety and long lifespan.
The initiative is part of BRPL's effort to reduce reliance on expensive power during high-demand hours and improve overall grid efficiency. This development follows the successful launch of a similar system in Kilokari in May 2025.
