Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani launched development projects worth of Rs 504 crore in Rajkot.
The CM inaugurated Raiya flyover christened as ‘Shahid Bridge’ on 150 Feet Ring Road, constructed at the cost of Rs 35 crore. The bridge will allow seamless movement from Madhapar crossroad to Nana Mauva.
The bridge will also ease traffic from Raiya Road going towards Hanuman Madhi. The project has been inaugurated after a delay of 10 months.
The Master System Integrated project, part of Smart City project, was also launched. Rajkot is one of the 20 cities in India to launch the project. It has been developed under ‘Pan City Solution’.
The state government is committed to construct 54 flyovers in municipal corporation areas and 21 flyovers in municipality areas. Of these, eight flyovers will be constructed in Rajkot.
Moreover, work of constructing over-bridges or under-bridges at 37 railway crossings will commence in 2019.
The foundation stones were also laid for projects including Smart City non-motorised transport, Smart City lake-2 and -3, Kalavad road six-lane widening, development of roads to the villages connecting Kherdi Magarvada and Kherdi Gunda, Phase-3 of Ring Road-2, police quarters and new cyber police station.
