Dilip Buildcon has emerged as the successful bidder by REC Power Development and Consultancy (RECPDCL) to establish a 400 kV sub-station at Mekhali in Belagavi District, Karnataka, along with associated transmission lines.
The project, awarded under the tariff based competitive bidding (TBCB) route on a build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis, will be executed for a period of 35 years from the commercial operation date (COD). Dilip Buildcon will acquire 100 percent equity of the project special purpose vehicle (SPV) and act as the transmission service provider, responsible for development, ownership, operation, and maintenance of the intra-state transmission system under a transmission service agreement. The scope includes constructing a 400/220/33 kV AIS sub-station and associated 400 kV and 220 kV transmission lines.
Construction and commissioning are scheduled to be completed within 24 months from the effective date. The contract is valued at Rs 1,850 crore (EPC without GST) and will operate under a tariff-based annuity model.
