The Union Ministry for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) has approved 21 tourism projects worth Rs 451 crore for Tripura, marking a significant boost for the state’s tourism sector.
Chief Minister Manik Saha highlighted that the projects would enhance tourism infrastructure and create new sustainable growth opportunities. Of the total amount, Rs 267.5 crore will be funded by DoNER, with the remainder coming from the state government, the Ministry of Tourism, and public-private partnerships. This announcement followed the presentation of the Matabari Tourist Circuit Project before Union DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. CM Saha called the approval "another major milestone" in the state's tourism development, thanking the Union government and the State Tourism Department for their support.
The initiative aims to improve tourist experiences, enhance connectivity, and establish sustainable infrastructure, positioning Tripura as a prominent tourism destination.
