Emami Paper Mills is planning to set up a multi-layer coated paper board manufacturing unit (Phase-I) at Sayakha Industrial Estate in Bharuch district of Gujarat.
The unit will have a capacity of 2.25 lakh tpa and spread over 4.15 lakh sq mtr of land parcel. The unit will also include 18 MW waste-based captive power unit. The company will make an investment to the tune of Rs 990 crore towards the project.
The Gujarat industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) had allocated land for the project. The State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) accorded environmental clearances in September 2018.
Civil work was likely to commence by January 2019. However, as per the latest update available with Projects Today, the project was kept on hold as the company was waiting for government approval and certain market conditions.
The work on the project is expected to commence by June 2020. The proposed project is expected to generate direct employment for around 750 people and an additional employment of around 2,000 people in the ancillary industries and service organisations.
