Exide Industries is eyeing to make an investment of Rs 6,000 crore in the next eight-10 years.
The company will set up a 12 GW-hour lithium-ion cell manufacturing unit in Karnataka. Phase-I with a capacity of six GW-hour is expected to be completed in 27-30 months.
The project will be funded through internal accruals and some bridge loan facilities from banks as and when required.
The facility is expected to be spread over 80 acre of land parcel. Exide has entered into a collaboration agreement with SVOLT Energy Technology Co (SVOLT).
