The feasibility study for Andhra
Pradesh Power Generation Corporation's 1,600 MW Krishnapatnam power project in
Nellore district is likely to be completed by July 2006.

officials stated that Gurgaon-based Lamhere International India Ltd has been
appointed consultant who are currently preparing the feasibility study and the
DPR.
APGenco appointed the said consultant
in November 2005 on the basis of a tenders invited in June 2005. The
tendering process for selecting the EPC contractor would begin from July 2006
onwards, it is learnt.
The Krishnapatnam power project
envisages the setting up of two coal-fired units of 800 MW using super critical
technology. The first unit is scheduled for commissioning within 48 months from
zero date, and the second, in 54 months.
