Filatex India, a manufacturer of polyester and polypropylene multifilament yarn and polyester chips, is now planning to foray into the home textiles segment. The company recently completed Rs 850 crore expansion.
The company is now planning to enter fabrics business, mainly home textiles. It is still finalising plans as the business will involve an investment of Rs 100 crore. The company operates two plants, located at Dahej in Gujarat and Dadra & Nagar Haveli. It plans to start home textile business in early 2020.
The company is now examining whether it will set up the manufacturing unit in Maharashtra which offers sops to attract new businesses. With this, the company’s capacity will increase from 3.28 lakh tpa to 3.9 lakh tpa.
