The Vadodara–Surat section of the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway is in its final phase, with only one segment—Ankleshwar to Kim, left to complete.
The 25-km stretch is 90 percent finished and is expected to open by end-2024 or early 2025. Four of the six packages between Vadodara and Surat are already operational. Package 5, the key missing link, has seen accelerated construction, with progress on the Kim Interchange, bridges, and underpasses.
The major hurdle—relocating high-tension power transmission poles, has been addressed, with pole shifting and earthwork underway. The Railway Overbridge near Kosamba is nearly complete. Once finished, the expressway will significantly improve connectivity across Gujarat’s industrial belt, saving travel time and strengthening logistics.
