Union Minister of State for Tourism K J Alphons inaugurated a tourist resort under Swadesh Darshan Scheme at Phesama near Kisama, Nagaland on 5 December 2018.
The tourist resort has been constructed at a cost of around Rs 3.5 crore.
The Development of Tribal Circuit: Peren-Kohima-Wokha was the first phase sanctioned by the Union Ministry of Tourism in November 2015 for Rs 97.36 crore.
The project in Peren district (New Peren and Benreu villages) was taken up under the theme ‘Eco-Tourism’, while Kohima (Phesama, Kisama, Kigwema and Viswema) under the theme ‘The Heritage’.
The project in Wokha (Wokha town and Doyang) was taken up under the theme ‘Water sports and Naga cuisine’.
Facilities such as residential cottage, eco log huts, open air theatre, tribal rejuvenation centre, helipad, tourist interpretation centre, wayside amenities, last mile connectivity, multipurpose hall, trekking routes etc have been developed under the project.
