The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has received five bids for the ‘missing link’ on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.
The 13.3 km link will start from Khopoli through an interchange to Kusgaon at the Pune-end of the e-way.
Of the five bids to be opened, three are for the link’s first package and two for the second. The project includes 6.5 km of augmentation work on the e-way and is estimated to cost Rs 3,314 crore.
The link will cut travel time by 25 minutes and bring Mumbai and Pune closer by six km. The road is expected to be ready by 2021-end.
The MSRDC has initiated steps for obtaining environmental clearance for 74.7 ha of forest land needed for the link. The project model will be implemented on EPC basis.
