The Water Resources Department, Madhya Pradesh, is planning to implement Maa Ratangarh Composite Gravity Dam project with power house on River Sindh of minimum gross capacity of 246.95 MCM in Datia district on turnkey basis.
The project comprises concrete dam with overflow, non-overflow and earthen portion. In June 2019, Mantena Constructions in a joint venture (JV) with Vasishta Constructions bagged a contract worth Rs 831 crore for execution of Maa Ratangarh multipurpose project comprising lifting water from Maa Ratangarh reservoir near Dang Diroli village.
As per the latest information available with Projects Today, the Water Resources Department is still awaiting forest clearances for the project. The dam designing work and land acquisition is underway. The project worth Rs 890 crore is slated to be completed by April 2024.
